Police: Body found in Wyo. IDed as Nathaniel Tallman, 2 suspects arrested

LAFAYETTE, Colo. - A body uncovered north of Lusk, Wyo. was identified by police Saturday as 25-year-old Nathaniel Tallman, who was reported as a missing person Jan. 23.

The body was found on Thursday, according to the Lafayette Police Department, who was notified of the discovery by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation.

After a thorough investigation, Lafayette police said they have made two arrests in the case, 58-year-old Russell Britton and 27-year-old Moises Cazares Mendez.

Britton is being held at the Boulder County Jail without bond and is charged with first-degree murder, said police.

A spokesperson from Boulder County Jail said Britton will be advised at 2 p.m. Monday.

Mendez is being held at San Diego Central Jail for first-degree murder on a $1,025,000 bond, according to police.

According to the Colorado Bureau of Investigations, Britton has had several previous arrests and Mendez has had about 11 previous arrests and served time in prison.

Detectives said the investigation in on-going and remains active.

The Lafayette Police Department listed local law enforcement agencies in Boulder, Longmont, Westminster, Larimer County and Golden, state agencies in Colorado, North Dakota and Wyoming as well as the FBI as key players in the investigation.
