I-70 Twin Tunnels

DENVER — Colorado lawmakers have proposed a bill to rename the Interstate 70 Twin Tunnels near Idaho Springs to honor those who have served for the country.

According to the Associated Press, the Senate Transportation Committee began work on a proposal Tuesday that would rename the I-70 Twin Tunnels as “Veterans Memorial Tunnels.”

A Democrat and Republican co-sponsored the Senate joint resolution.

The Colorado Department of Transportation has also been working on a project to widen the westbound Twin Tunnel, adding a third lane.

How about honoring the people who actually gave their lives to BUILD them, instead of honoring people who destroyed such infrastructure?
