LOVELAND, Colo. -- A second person of interest was taken into custody Wednesday in connection with the shooting of a Loveland Police officer this weekend.

Police arrested William Brown Wednesday afternoon during a traffic stop on I-25 near Fort Collins. Investigators say Brown was in the vehicle with the man accused of shooting officer Garrett Osilka Sunday night.

Brown is now being held on charges unrelated to the officer's shooting.

His arrest came just hours after 23-year-old Cody Powell made his first appearance in court on attempted murder charges. Powell turned himself in to Fort Collins Police Tuesday afternoon.

Officer Osilka remains hospitalized in intensive care, but he is slowly recovering from his injuries.
