DENVER — A motorcyclist was injured after a hit-and-run accident at Colorado Boulevard and 8th Street Saturday morning.

Shortly before 5 a.m. Saturday, the Denver Police Department tweeted that there had been a hit-and-run accident at Colorado Boulevard and 8th Street involving a car and a motorcycle.

DPD spokesman Sonny Jackson said a black car was traveling northbound on Colorado Boulevard when it struck a motorcyclist.

The motorcycle driver was tossed off the bike, but the driver of the vehicle didn’t stop, said Jackson. He added that the car continued to travel northbound on Colorado Boulevard with the motorcycle attached to it.

At 12th Street, the car turned and came to a stop in the 1100 block of Albion Street, said Jackson. The suspect then got out of the vehicle and fled on foot.

Jackson said the motorcyclist was transported to a nearby hospital with head trauma.
