Police: Denver woman attacked in apartment stairwell

DENVER — A woman was attacked Sunday in the stairwell of her apartment building in Denver.

At approximately 9:15 a.m. Sunday, Denver police said a woman was assaulted in the stairwell of her apartment building located at 860 S. Oneida St.

The victim immediately reported the incident to authorities, said police.

A Crime Stopper alert issued by the Denver Police Department described the suspect as a Hispanic male in his 40s, 5-foot-10 to 5-foot-11, heavy build with a pot belly, mustache, think eyebrows, acne scarring on his face and a crooked right index finger.

Police said they suspect the man may be homeless.
