BOULDER, Colo. -- A University of Colorado football player was arrested Saturday after police said he choked a fellow student athlete at a house party and got into a scuffle with Boulder police.
Jeffrey Hall, 19, was arrested just after midnight Saturday.
According to a police report, officers were called to a home at 18th Street and Baseline Road late Friday on a noise complaint. As the officers arrived, guests at a house party started leaving, including a woman, later identified as Adrienne Lettow, who told police a man had "chocked her out."
As police were talking to Lettow, two men, Hall and another CU football player Chidobe Awuzie, came out of the home. Police said Hall rushed to Lettow and appeared to "want to physically harm" her.
Officers restrained Hall and made him sit down. He called them "pigs" and said the officers were just targeting black men, the report said.
According to the report, Lettow told Hall, "that's what you get," and he got up and lunged at her. Officers again tried to subdue him, but he resisted.
Police said they had to use a Taser to finally get Hall to calm down. During the scuffle, one of the officers was hit in the head and scratched on the forehead, the report said.
Hall suffered a cut on his head and several small puncture wounds from the Taser. He was taken to a hospital for an exam and then booked into the Boulder County Jail.
Witnesses told police that Hall and Lettow got into a fight during the party, that she at one point shoved Hall, and that he started choking her with his left hand almost causing her to blackout, the report said.
"He flipped out and lost it," witness Stephen Canning told police. "Everyone was trying to get him off her."
Lettow is a member of the track team at CU. She told police she knew Hall, but that the two were not close friends.

He is currently free on bond.
