CENTENNIAL, Colo. — Former Colorado Avalanche forward Milan Hejduk announced Monday he is hanging up his hockey jersey for good.

According to the team’s official website, the 38-year-old NHL player is ready to move on from hockey after playing for 14 seasons with the Colorado Avalanche.

A native of the Czech Republic, Hejduk ranks fourth in franchise history for goals and points, said the Avs.

“I was fortunate to play many years at this level with a great organization and unbelievable teammates,” said the three-time Olympian.  “I realized my lifelong dream of not only playing in the NHL, but winning a Stanley Cup. My family and I are proud to call Denver home and are enjoying our time together.”
