DENVER — A man who police say robbed a 7-Eleven convenience store Tuesday dropped his wallet while fleeing the scene.

The Denver Police Department said officers responded to an aggravated robbery at a 7-Eleven store Tuesday.

The suspect threatened store employees with a knife then fled, according to police.

Officers said their area search was unsuccessful. However, they were able to retrieve the suspect’s ID after he dropped his wallet while running out of the store.

DPD posted a public call to action on its Facebook page Wednesday. The slightly tongue-in-cheek post had an image of a large smiley face winking and signed off, “If anyone knows 29-year-old Deven B. Tomasso, will you please tell him that we have his wallet and he can pick it up at any one of the Denver Police Stations.”
