BOULDER, Colo. — Firefighters responded to a grass fire  at 5th and Baseline on Flagstaff Mountain Tuesday afternoon.

Smoke was visible from the fire and crews from the Boulder Fire Department and Boulder County Sheriff’s Office were on the scene and working to put out the flames.

Reports indicated firefighters were able to get a good handle on the fire quickly. Smoke died down, and communications on the fire dispatch channels calmed down some.

The fire started on private property and the cause was under investigation according to Boulder Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Cmdr. Heidi Prentup. She also said the fire was contained late Tuesday afternoon.
