DENVER -- There is new information Monday that police were working to try to find the man who killed his wife and mother-in-law before he struck.

The killer, Cimerron Johns, shot himself to death as police closed in to an apartment in Thornton where he was barricaded Friday night.

He was a wanted man, and police were trying to find him. They also say they tried to offer his wife police protection, which she refused.

She and her mother were murdered in Weld County late Thursday night.

Mark Meredith has more information in his video report.
