Springs police looking for man wanted in January homicide

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Authorities are looking for a 36-year-old man wanted for a homicide that happened in January.

Hermis Pineda-Lara is wanted for the slaying that happened at a parking lot outside an apartment complex on Monterey Road.

Police said the victim, Efrain Murillo-Mejia, 32, from Honduras, was stabbed to death.

Pineda-Lara is also from Honduars and police said they believe he is trying to leave the area.

He is 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs 140 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes. Police said he should be “considered armed and dangerous.”
