Explore Colorado: Wolf Creek

Jennifer Broome takes us to the Wolf Creek Ski area to ski in some epic powder.

With 430 inches of natural snow a season, Wolf Creek Ski Area gets to claim the title of “the most snow in Colorado” of any ski area or resort in the state.  Known for their powder skiing,  Wolf Creek is also known for giving the out-of-bounds feel while skiing trees and powder in bounds.  They have a variety of groomers for all levels and some areas like Waterfall and the Knife Edge to Horseshoe Bowl for experts.

Wolf Creek Ski Area is one of the last family owned ski areas or resorts in the country.  It is owned by the Pitcher Family.  They really make skiing affordable and fun for the family.  Adults lift tickets are $58.  For kids 6-12 lift tickets are $31.  Lift tickets are only $6 for kids 5 and under.  Wolf Creek has local appreciation days with rates of $38 for adults and $22 for kids.  The next one is February 19th with several more throughout the rest of ski season.
