17-year-old charged as adult in attempted sexual assault cases

DENVER -- A juvenile who police captured Friday after he escaped their custody has been charged as an adult in two sexual assault cases.

Adonnis Rucker, 17, has been charged with four counts of second-degree kidnapping, four counts of attempted sexual assault, two counts of aggravated robbery and two counts of felony menacing, announced a release from the Denver Distort Attorney's office on Wednesday.

According to the charges, Rucker allegedly attacked a women on Jan. 8 near Monaco Parkway and Illiff Avenue. The second alleged attack occurred on Jan. 16 near 11th Avenue and Osage Street.

The juvenile escaped from police custody on Jan. 23 while being transported for a juvenile court hearing, but was recaptured on Jan. 24.

Rucker is scheduled to appear in a Denver courtroom on Thursday, said the release.
