Udall can’t say if he wants Obama to campaign with him
DENVER — Following the annual State of the Union Address, members of Congress often stream out of the House chamber eager to take a position in front of a television camera for a live interview with the dozens of network correspondents broadcasting live from the rotunda.
Colorado Sen. Mark Udall, a Democrat facing reelection this fall, found himself being interviewed by CNN’s Dana Bash.
And he found himself unable to answer Bash’s question as to whether or not he wants President Obama to campaign at his side in Colorado this fall.
The obvious subtext: is the once-popular president, headed into his sixth year in the White House, a political asset or liability?
Republicans wasted no time blasting out a video clip of the exchange:
