WASHINGTON — Just days from President Obama’s State of the Union address, a senior adviser is providing a glimpse into the speech’s central themes: “opportunity, action and optimism.”

In an e-mail message to supporters, Dan Pfeiffer is rallying supporters ahead of the address this Tuesday, with a glimpse at the President’s plans for 2014.

“On Tuesday night, the President will lay out a set of real, concrete, practical proposals to grow the economy, strengthen the middle class and empower all who hope to join it,” Pfeiffer said.

While he calls the speech “optimistic,” it is sure to ruffle some feathers as well, as Pfeiffer makes clear that Obama will push ahead on his agenda with or without congressional consent.

“In this year of action, the President will seek out as many opportunities as possible to work with Congress in a bipartisan way. But when American jobs and livelihoods depend on getting something done, he will not wait for Congress,” Pfeiffer said.

The “year of action” has become a common refrain in 2014 from a White House many see as mired in Washington gridlock.

“President Obama has a pen and he has a phone, and he will use them to take executive action and enlist every American… in the project to restore opportunity for all,” Pfeiffer said.

The blast e-mail also announced details of the President’s upcoming road trip. After the speech, he will travel to Prince George’s County in Maryland, Pittsburgh, Milwaukee and Nashville to continue to tout his message of economic inequality.

The White House also announced an online question-and-answer session titled the “Virtual Big Block of Cheese Day.” In a salute to Andrew Jackson and “The West Wing,” White House officials, including Pfeiffer, will answer questions via social media.

“Checks and Balances? Congress? We don’t need no stinking approval of Congress”

The Constitution is so pre-revolutionary, and outdated you know.

When will the people identify a true threat to their Liberty?

Maybe most of you don’t deserve the liberty you take for granted.

    Wake up!

Between the DOJ, the Executive Branch, the quasi-constitutional Judicial Branch and the Senate.. We might be hard pressed to get an impeachment….

If America (Liberals are not Americans) takes back the Senate, then maybe just maybe we stand a chance. Otherwise it’s going to be a very hard road to recovery, if we don’t have a financial crash before the elections. Prepare for the worst, hope for the best.

Whomever we have that opposes Udall, I hope they emphasize the berating call he gave the Colo Dept of Health for showing the number of Coloradans that lost their healthcare (under Obamacare). Where was the reporting on that?

Is our country doomed just because nobody in Washington will write, sponsor or support Articles of Impeachment needed to rid ourselves of this America-hating radical narcissist ? That RACE CARD weapon the Democrats wield is some powerful chit huh !?

    “Jesus was liberal.”
If you define pro-life as liberal, yes. If you define theocratic governments as liberal, yes. If you define a belief in Biblical definition of marriage as liberal, yes. But somehow I don’t think that’s what you meant, Mike.

“If you like your doctor and you like your plan, you can keep them both.”

“Nobody is trying to take away your guns.”

“I promise to uphold and defend the Constitution …”

So sad for all of us, how our rights and country is eroding. Our political system is SO weak and corrupt, that a majority of Americans (and virtually ALL black voters) saw this loser as the best option, twice.

Repubs will hand the White House to Hillary in 2016, again by default. Instead of concentrating on fiscal responsibility and leadership, they will be mired in snuffing out women’s healthcare, debating evolution, and projecting their theocracy upon the rest of us. Very sad indeed.

Why listen to the O’blamo, he speaks with deceitful intent. Have him call me and tell me why he sidesteps the law, why he sells insurance without a license, and why he lies about his family and his roots, why he protects illegal aliens, AND lies about their status?

    WHY?
