DENVER -- The teenager who was the subject of an intense manhunt in Denver was captured Friday evening on the northeast side of the city.

FOX31 Denver's Justin Joseph was at the scene of the arrest when it happened before 6 p.m. The location was near Green Valley Ranch Boulevard and Chambers Road.

Police searched for 17-year-old Adonnis Rucker since his escape from officers who were transporting him to the juvenile detention center in north Denver Thursday night.

Denver Police warned residents Friday that he was considered armed and dangerous.

"In addition to facing an escape charge, Adonnis Rucker is facing four counts of second-degree kidnapping, two counts of attempted sexual assault, two counts of aggravated robbery and two counts of felony menacing in connection with separate incidents that occurred on January 8 and January 16 in Denver," a joint press release from Denver Police and the District Attorney's Office says.

Uhhhmm 28th and Downing is NOT the north side. How can a person write about news in DEnver and not accurately know which neighborhood is which?

  • Jasmine

That’s the eastside not the north side. I stay literally five blocks up from 28th and downing. To closes to home can’t wait till I get out of Denver next month. Come on how do you misplace a 17 year old felon dpd????

  • Jim

It’s called Five Points but with all the east coast refugees moving in that was forgotten long ago. Denver stretches much further east than Downing, and since the Adams County line is at about 50th avenue and the area between there and 40th avenue is called Globeville, calling the area between Downtown and 40th avenue North Denver is very appropriate and fitting, and I think the DPD zones it the same way…. Denver certainly stretches to Sheridan…. A centrally north Denver location this is, I don’t know how many months Sylvia and Jasmine have been living here, but we will not miss you!

“Police urged anyone who sees the suspect to call 911 immediately.”

I’d urge anyone who sees the suspect to ensure their own safety first, then call 911 when it is safe to do so.

Dan do you realize how idiotic you sound? not to mention all your silly hash tags that surprisingly make you look like even more of an idiot.

Since when can the media post photo’s and video’s and publicly name someone under the age of 18, who hasn’t even been charged with anything? It also sounds as if he has no previous charges. How backwards is the system becoming? That sounds very wrong. How can this juvenile get a fair trial of any kind now? The justice system? I agree that someone of suspect should be taken into custody, but they can put a filter on it. Can the Denver police not do their job without a shout out to the media?

And people say racism is dead, thanks to you idiots it’s easy to see that some people still think that racism and throwing around racial slurs are okay. Get educated or shut up. That simple. Sometimes I’m so embarrassed to be an American

We’re not done yet. If this worthless criminal was ever fed with food stamps, housed in section 8 housing or cared for via medicaid then every single penny of needs to be paid back NOW.

If she’s still collecting, she needs to be cut off immediately. If living in section 8 housing, she needs to be evicted tomorrow.

If she doesn’t have the money to repay the aid we gave her we need to seize the assets of the family, starting with the mother, extending out to all members – aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters, cousins, etc.

Why should we have to keep paying only to get thugs in return?
