GOLDEN, Colo. — Jefferson County Open Space Parks announced Tuesday it has accepted a donation of 29 acres of land near North Table Mountain Park.

The area included in the donation, known as the Golden Cliffs Preserve, is a year-round popular rock-climbing destination within walking distance to downtown Golden, according to a release from Jeffco Open Space.

The 29 acres has been managed by The Access Fund since 1994, stated Tuesday’s release. Since taking ownership of the preserve, The Access Fund has installed an access road, signage, trails and trail-head restroom facilities.

The contribution was approved in mid-January with the stipulation that the donated land remain open for rock climbing.
