Couple looks to sell historic Denver Broncos pennants
DENVER — The Denver Broncos’ win Sunday means a lot to one local couple who is hoping to cash in on the victory by selling a collection of pennants. But it wasn’t an easy decision.
“I always had the idea of putting them in the basement, in my man cave,” Andrew Glover said.
But, now he’s hoping they’ll help line his pockets and kick-start his business.
Glover added, “I just need a little bit of funding; cash to get it off the ground.”
Glover is a 9-year Navy veteran and an avid Broncos fan. He’s giving up his precious Broncos pennants, hoping they’ll help cement the future of his new company, All Star Concrete.
That isn’t a problem at all for his wife Jessica.
“I`ve been pushing to get rid of them ever since the beginning,” she said.
It’s not that she isn’t a fan; she says she loves the Broncos; she just had a different idea of where they should go.
Her husband said, “I wanted to decorate my bedroom with them, which I did, for a while.” But she believes, “This would definitely help out with the company, give us a little kick start.”
Now, all 30 pennants are up for sale on Craigslist. They’re $20 apiece, or best offer. Everything from when the Broncos we’re the AFC Champs in 1987, to old NFL history, including the Los Angeles Rams, Los Angeles Raiders and Houston Oilers.
Glover even has history that never was: “We`ve got a 1977 World Championship which never happened, but I managed to get a hold of one,” he said.
Now Glover is hoping the Broncos momentum will help him.
“I`m hoping the people that do buy `um, enjoy `um as much as I have over the years.”
