WASHINGTON — Garden Fresh Foods greatly expanded its recall of chicken and ham products due to possible listeria contamination on Monday, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.

The expansion adds 103,080 pounds of food to the 25,748 already recalled in late September. It was not immediately clear if this recall was related to a similar move made by Reser’s Fine Foods during the weekend.

The Milwaukee-based company is recalling the ready-to-eat products after the FDA found contamination through microbiological testing. There have been no reports of illnesses due to consumption of these products.

The products were distributed to retail and food service establishments nationwide, including in Colorado.
