Adams 14 teacher suspended, deputies investigating incident

ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. — A teacher at Dupont Elementary School in Adams County has been placed on administrative leave after an incident with a student, school district officials said.

The teacher, who has not been identified, is also under investigation by the Adams County Sheriff’s Department, said Adams County School District 14 spokeswoman Maria VanderKolk.

“Given that this is a personnel matter, Adams 14 is unable to provide further information at this time and will allow for due process to proceed,” VanderKolk said. “As always, our number one priority is the safety of our students.”

Dupont Elementary is on Kimberly Street in Commerce City.

Adams 14 serves about 7,500 students annually in Commerce City.
