Man spotted mowing Lincoln Memorial being called ‘hero’

WASHINGTON — People on social media are calling him a hero.

A unidentified man was spotted mowing the law at the Lincoln Memorial Wednesday morning.

Twitter user Brandon Morse posted a photo of the mowing man, tweeting: “A guy has taken it upon himself to mow the lawn at the Lincoln Memorial. God bless that man.”

Photos of the man quickly went viral. In addition to the lawn mower, he carried a blue South Carolina flag and several tools.

The Weekly Standard reported Park Police watched the man and then asked him to leave. “He was asked to leave, and he complied,” said Park Police public information officer Sgt. Paul Brooks.
