DENVER -- A woman was pulled into an alley and attacked, and now police want the public to be on the lookout.

Police warn that two masked men attacked the woman at about 7:30 p.m. October 1 in the popular neighborhood of E. 7th Avenue and Gilpin Street.

The woman told police they two tried to drag her into an alley, but she was able to fight them off and get away.

The suspects got away as well and remain at large.

Police spokesman Sonny Jackson describes the neighborhood where this happened as quiet and says it's a highly unusual incident for this area. It's south of Cheesman Park and the Denver Botanic Gardens.

There is no description of the men, but police did recover parts from their vehicle.

The victim says they crashed into a dumpster when they were making their getaway. Investigators found the driver side mirror and parts of the tail light and reflector on the ground.

They believe the parts are from a late 1990s gold-colored Nissan Pathfinder.

Anyone having information on a vehicle fitting this description that has new damage to the left side and the driver mirror missing is asked to forward the information to Crime Stoppers 720-913-7867.
