BOULDER, Colo. -- A youth pastor at Vinelife Church in unincorporated Boulder County was arrested and charged with sexual assault.
According to Boulder police Jason Roberson met his teenage victim while working at the church.
His neighbors in Firestone were shocked by the arrest.
"I'm devastated, I can't imagine," said Mike, a neighbor of Jason Roberson.
Neighbors said Jason Roberson, lived at his Firestone home with his wife and two daughters for nearly 10-years.
They described the 35-year-old youth pastor as friendly and a good person.
"They're an awesome family," said Maryann Sigala, Roberson's neighbor.
Boulder Police say Roberson is facing sexual assault charges for having a relationship with a 15-year-old girl that continued for seven years. The now, 23-year-old told police that Roberson touched her inappropriately and watched her undress by spying on her outside her home in Boulder.
"I have all the trust in the world with Jason, let's just put it that way. I never thought this manner would come about," said Mike.
Police say Roberson was a close friend of the victim's family and they say he allegedly admitted to the relationship when confronted by the victim and family friends.
But, neighbors are questioning the charges.
"You wonder if that is the truth or not. There's two sides to the story," Mike said.
Video on Roberson's YouTube page shows what neighbors say is Roberson playing guitar with his daughter, who is a freshman in high school.
Neighbors said they trusted Roberson around their kids and that he never once acted inappropriately.
"I don't see that happening just because I have older daughters too and he was really kind...and I just don't see that," said Sigala.
Roberson turned himself into Boulder police on Wednesday.
Investigators said the victim is just now pressing charges because she felt uncomfortable until now disclosing the relationship to others.
