DENVER — Six Denver Public Schools plan to release students early on Friday.

“Schools without air-conditioning have the option to call an early release day following a prolonged forecast of extreme heat conditions,” said a DPS spokesman. “The decision to have an early-release is made by school leadership in partnership with the school community.”

The six schools include:

• Asbury Elementary, 1320 E. Asbury Ave., 720-424-9750
• Beach Court Elementary, 4950 Beach Court, 720-424-9470
• Garden Place Academy, 4425 Lincoln St., 720-424-7220
• Newlon, 361 Vrain St., 720-424-5150
• Steck Elementary, 450 N Albion St., 720-424-3870
• Steele Elementary, 320 S. Marion St., 720-424-3720
