AURORA, Colo. — A man died Tuesday afternoon after he was ejected from his car during a crash on I-225.

According to a spokesperson with Aurora police, the man was heading northbound on I-225 at the flyover to westbound I-70 when witnesses say the vehicle drifted to the right as the road curved left.

The man struck the highway guard rail and rolled multiple times, partially traveling down the embankment, police said.

The driver, who was the only person in the car, was partially ejected from the vehicle. He was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.

The man was taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Police do not suspect excessive speed as a factor in the crash. It is not known if the driver was intoxicated.

The highway was closed for less than an hour with one lane open while authorities surveyed the scene.

Investigators are still looking into what caused the crash. The name of the victim was not released.
