DENVER — A bomb squad was called to Denver’s Wellington E. Webb building Wednesday morning after a suspicious package was found near the municipal office complex, according to Denver Police.

As of 7:45 a.m., police confirmed that the package had been cleared and that crews on the scene had determined there was no remaining threat to the building.

Around 7 a.m., Denver Police said via Twitter that the package was discovered near the building, located at 201 West Colfax Avenue, just off Civic Center Park.

The building was evacuated as the bomb squad investigated.

Several roads around the building were shut down as police investigated, but have since reopened.
