AURORA, Colo. — A driver’s medical condition caused a rollover accident that sparked a large power outage in Aurora Tuesday morning.

Aurora police responded to a two-car accident near Peoria Street and Quari Court just after 10:00 a.m.

Officers discovered that one of the drivers was experiencing a medical issue, which caused them to sideswipe another vehicle, forcing it to roll over.

One of the cars hit an electric box during the collision, causing a large power outage in the area. Approximately 3,250 people lost power, according to Xcel Energy.

The driver who initiated the accident was taken to a local hospital to be treated for a medical condition.

The driver of the rolled vehicle was also taken to the hospital for minor injuries, according to police.
