As expected, Downton Abbey nabbed its share of 2013 Emmy nominations.

As expected, Downton Abbey nabbed its share of 2013 Emmy nominations.

On Thursday morning, the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced its nominees for the 65th Primetime Emmy Awards.

Scheduled to reveal the exciting news was Emmy winner Aaron Paul of “Breaking Bad.” Kate Mara (“House of Cards”) was a no-show at the nominations announcement. The academy sent the following statement: “Apologies for the last second notice, but our Emmy Nominations co-host Kate Mara is unable to join us this morning. She is on location in Santa Fe and late last night her flight had a mechanical malfunction and was unable to take off. She sends her sincerest regrets.”

In Mara’s place was revered Tony’s host Neil Patrick Harris.
