EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. -- The mudslides Friday shut down a highway in northern Colorado because of heavy rain over the High Park Fire burn scar.

But they're keeping their eyes on the sky every afternoon and evening in the Manitou Springs area. Two instances of heavy downpours over the Waldo Canyon burn scar have caused damaging walls of raging mud and water to flow recently.

A newspaper reporter for the Colorado Springs Gazette shot video while he was in his car, as it was washed away in a flash flood on Highway 24 Wednesday.
