LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. — Firefighters from Loveland and the U.S. Forest Service responded to two small wildfires burning in Larimer County Wednesday afternoon.

The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office tweeted that the Hells Canyon Fire is between 5 to 7 acres in size and the Pole Hill Fire is between 1 to 2 acres.

Both are burning west of Pinewood Reservoir. Deputies said they believe the fires were likely started by lightning but no official cause has been released.

A few light thunderstorms moved through the area Wednesday afternoon bringing gusty winds.
