COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A man utilizing a less-than-covert online username was sentence to eight years in federal prison after pleading guilty to child pornography charges.

Colorado Springs’ Kevin Shea, 42, was also ordered to pay restitution totaling $7,000 to the victims of the crime, serve 10 years on supervised release and register as a sex offender.

Shea was remanded following the sentencing hearing.

A federal grand jury indicted Shea, who was known in online circles as “pervymcperv,” in February, on charges that he was in possession of child pornography and knowingly distributed 97 images and three videos containing child pornography.

Shea was charged with two counts of distribution and one count of possession of child pornography after police raided his home and found a computer disk that contained images and videos along with evidence that the illicit material had been transported across state lines.

Shea faced up to 50 years in prison and up to a $750,000 fine under his original charges.
