Pueblo police look for leads in hit and run incident

PUEBLO, Colo. — A 17-year-old girl suffered serious injuries after a hit and run incident off of Highway 50 in Pueblo around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday.

The girl was hit by a vehicle while attempting to cross the Highway 50 Bypass, the Pueblo Police Department said in a media release. she was not crossing at an intersection and was accompanied by two other minors who incurred no injuries from the accident. She was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Witnesses described the suspect vehicle to police as a 1982 – 1995, dark colored Chevy or GMC S-10. It was traveling east at the time of the incident. The two occupants are believed to be older Hispanic males, approximately 50 to 60 years of age. There should be severe front-end damage to the car from the impact of the accident.

According to eyewitness accounts, the first three numbers of the suspect vehicle’s license plate are believed to be “720.”

The Pueblo Police Department reported that speed does not seem to be a factor, at least not at this time, and are asking¬†for the public’s assistance with any additional leads.
