BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. — The bond for the suspect who fatally stabbed a 17-year-old  during a fight near a Boulder County campsite Wednesday has been set at $1 million.

Spencer Crawford, 19, is facing a first degree murder charge in the stabbing death of 17-year-old Angus Gaudin of Boulder, the Boulder County Coroner’s Office reported.

Boulder County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Joe Pelle said a group of young people in their late teens was camping in the 5300 block Ridge Road just west of Nederland Wednesday when a fight broke out shortly after midnight.

“One of (the teens) was fatally stabbed,” Pelle said.

Alcohol and drugs are suspected as being involved in the incident. The investigation is ongoing.

Crawford is being held at the Boulder County Jail. He is expected to be formally charged on June 25.
