DENVER — Police were investigating the scene after finding a dead body in a park near a busy southeast Denver intersection Monday morning.

Denver Police dispatch confirmed around 7 a.m. that a dead body had indeed been found in Southmoor Park, which is near the intersection of of East Hampden Avenue and South Monaco Parkway.

Though the death did not appear to be suspicious, according to dispatchers, homicide detectives were called to the scene to investigate.

There was no information provided on the identity of the body, but SkyFOX footage appeared to show that the deceased was a male.
