Tyson Foods employee loses arm in industrial accident

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — According to Hutchinson police, a Tyson Foods Inc. employee lost his arm in an industrial accident that occurred around 4:30 p.m. on Monday.

Hutchinson Police Lt. John Moore told The Hutchinson News the man’s arm got caught in a conveyor belt, and he was pulled into the machine. He lost his arm from the elbow down.

The man was taken by a medical helicopter to Via Christi’s St. Francis campus, Wichita. Monday night, a hospital spokesperson told The Hutchinson News he was in critical condition.

The man’s name has not been released.
