Fort Carson soldier killed in Afghanistan

FORT CARSON, Colo. — A Fort Carson soldier was killed in Afghanistan last week, according to the Department of Defense.

Staff Sgt. Joe A. Nunezrodriguez, 29, of Pasadena, Texas, died on Thursday, in Wardak Province, Afghanistan, from injuries sustained when his vehicle struck an improvised explosive device.

Sgt. Nunezrodriguez was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom. He was assigned to the 68th Combat Support Sustainment Battalion, 43rd Sustainment Brigade, 4th Infantry Division in Fort Carson.
