AURORA, Colo. — The 21 people on-board a dragon boat were sent into the water Saturday morning after their boat capsized on the Aurora Reservoir.

The team was training for the dragon boat races, when they were forced into the water when the boat overturned.

Luckily, everyone on-board was wearing a life-jacket and had the property safety equipment.

The group was rescued from the water and checked for hypothermia. Officials said the team members are all doing alright.

Unfortunately, the boat the team had been training on could not be saved.

The Aurora Fire Department said it’s a good reminder to make sure you prioritize water safety.
