DENVER — A Federal Heights woman was killed Tuesday night when her assault rifle was accidentally fired.
Police said the woman, 22-year-old Anastasia Adair, was showing friends a newly purchased gun about 10:40 p.m. As she passed the rifle to her husband, the weapon discharged, inflicting a fatal head wound on Adair, witnesses told police.
The incident remained under investigation Thursday, though evidence so far seems consistent with witnesses’ account of the event, police said.
