DENVER — The Federal Communications Commission is requiring TV stations that live stream video over the internet to include closed captioning by March 30, 2013.

To be compliant with the new order KDVR and KWGN will begin placing closed captioning on the video player during our newscasts on March 25.

Unfortunately this captioning cannot be turned off by the user.

This is a temporary solution until we are able to install a new video player that will allow closed captioning to be turned on or off based off the users preference.

We anticipate this new video player to be installed and operating on our sites in the first week of April.

News conferences and other live events are exempt from the FCC rules.
