DENVER -- East High coach, Rudy Carey's basketball team lives to play another day, following a tough win over Arapahoe High School in the Boys' basketball tournament.

But what makes the win even more special is Carey now has coached kids to 700 wins after 36 years of basketball.

"This is a testament to all the players, coaches and fans who have given me a chance to reach this milestone," said Carey.

"We just couldn't get going tonight, but even with major foul trouble the kids found a way to gut out a win."

The Angels will next face Eaglecrest in the Final Four, which will be played in Boulder next weekend.

After the game, Carey said his next goal is 702, which will mean his team will have won both the first Final Four game and the state championship match as well.
