DENVER — One person was in custody after a vehicle plowed through the storefront at a Mexican restaurant in Denver’s Highland neighborhood on Sunday.

According to police, the vehicle crashed into Los Carboncitos near the intersection of West 38th Avenue and Pecos Street at approximately 9:30 p.m. Police said they had received reports of a shooting in the area around the same time.

There were no serious injuries resulting from the crash, but the building was severely damaged. As of Monday morning, the¬†entrance¬†was boarded up with signs attached to the boards warning passersby that the structure was “unsafe.”

Police have one person in custody in connection with the crash, though they have not identified that individual.
