DENVER — A 31-year-old man was arrested Thursday after police said he tried to kidnap a woman in the 200 block of East 29th Street in Loveland, police reported.

Robert Douglas Coffman of Loveland is the suspect who approached a woman as she was getting into her car around 8:30 a.m. Thursday, police said in a media release. He allegedly brandished a weapon and tried to force himself into the vehicle. The woman fought back, suffering minor injuries, and her attacker fled on foot.

Police captured Coffman later that day and booked him into Larimer County jail on five felony counts, including attempted first-degree kidnapping and second-degree assault.
