DENVER — Initial reports suggested there had been a historic drive-by shooting outside the Denver County Jail earlier this week. But police disputed those reports on Thursday.
According to Denver Police, a bullet hole was indeed discovered on Tuesday in the exterior wall of the Denver County Jail building, which is located at 10500 Smith Road. But authorities say there is no evidence to suggest that it is related to a drive-by shooting.
A police spokesperson also said that there is no evidence that the bullet was even meant to be directed at the jail, which has never been the victim of any shooting.
There were no injuries that resulted from the bullet, and police said they are not entirely certain about when it was fired.
