Women targeted in string of northwest metro Denver robberies
THORNTON, Colo. — Women are on alert and officers are on the lookout for two suspected thieves in a string of robberies against women in parking lots outside stores.
Thornton police say two men waved a gun at a woman in a parking lot in Superior Sunday afternoon and stole her purse.
They also tried to rob the clerk at a gas station in Thornton.
But that wasn’t all. Police believe the same suspects tried to grab another woman’s purse as she put groceries in her car outside a Costco store in Thornton.
A friend rushed to help that woman, and the suspect took off in a car.
Police say the description of the suspects and their vehicle is similar in all three cases.
