DENVER — A charter bus carrying 39 people overturned Friday night near Fraser, inflicting minor injuries on some of the passengers.

The accident happened around 7:15 p.m. on Grand County Road 50 about four miles from Highway 40, Colorado State Patrol Sgt. Mike Baker said.

The group was traveling from the Foothills Bible Church in Littleton to the Crooked Creek Young Life Ranch near Fraser when it lost traction on a curve and came to rest on its passenger side.  Multiple people were transported to a local hospital for precautionary reasons, but the few reported injuries were minor, police said.

The bus’s driver, 75-year-old Harold Coiner of Longmont, was not injured. He received a citation for careless driving causing injury.

Alcohol and drug use were not suspected as contributing factors in the crash.
