FORT COLLINS, Colo. — Thieves got away with a Larimer County Sheriff’s deputy’s guns during a rash of break-ins recently.

In the Registry Ridge neighborhood, several vehicles were broken into Fri. Feb. 1, said Larimer County Sheriff’s Office spokesman John Schulz.  “One of the vehicles was an unmarked sport utility vehicle belonging to the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office.”

The items reported missing include a police radio, a .308 caliber rifle with scope, a .223 caliber rifle, traffic spikes used to disable vehicles and one bullet-proof vest with the word “Sheriff” displayed.

“All serial numbers and appropriate descriptions have been provided to Fort Collins Police Services along with bulletins that were sent out to other law enforcement agencies in the region and across the State,” Schulz said.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at (970) 221-6868.
