Some parents angry about news of teacher firings at kids’ school
DENVER — Some parents attended a sometimes heated meeting in the school library at Centennial Elementary in Denver Monday night.
They just learned that a large number of teachers at the school would not be returning next year because students aren’t progressing the way administrators would like.
The school district issued a statement Monday night about the planned changes at the school. “We’re encouraged by the early signs of progress we’ve seen at other DPS elementary schools that have undergone similar redesigns, such as McGlone, Green Valley, and Trevista. We’re confident that the Centennial leadership and CSC will put together a strong improvement plan for the school.”
