Handler, Morgan fight on live TV [VIDEO]
Things got testy in a hurry on “Chelsea Lately” Wednesday night, when talk show hosts Chelsea Handler and Piers Morgan collided on the same set.
Both hosts came out with their guns loaded, but Handler, the host of the particular show in question, drew first — before Morgan could even take his seat.
“What are you looking at?” Handler asked Morgan.
Apparently trying to be funny on a show that encourages such responses, “Well, you’ve either had plastic surgery or a makeover, because you look really hot today.”
The 37-year-old comedian was quick to reply.
“Oh, you’re so annoying,” she said. “You’re so obnoxious — you wonder why everybody hates you! I specifically covered up so you couldn’t look at me and undress me with your molester eyes.”
The back-and-forth continued from there, with Morgan taking a jab at Handler’s public penchant for alcohol.
“Normally when I come on the show,” he said, “you’re really hungover in a very unprofessional way.”
Apparently sensing a need to steer the interview back to its original purpose, Handler began talking about the second anniversary of Morgan’s prime time talk show on CNN, discussing Morgan’s idea to add a live audience to his set.
The pleasantries and professionalism between industry colleagues didn’t last long.
“You interviewed me last year on my anniversary, which just proved one thing, really,” Morgan began before Handler cut him off.
“Let me guess,” Handler started in. “That you’re a better interviewer than I am?”
Morgan laughed, and nodded in agreement.
“Well, I’m not pretending to be a great interviewer,” Handler continued. “I’m not even pretending to be good at my job.”
“Both things are clearly apparent today,” Morgan chimed in. “But I can help you.”
“You can suck my a–,” Handler shot back. “I mean, really.”
