Man stabbed, woman shot during dispute in East Denver

DENVER — Though they are not sure which party attacked first, police have confirmed that a woman was shot and a man was stabbed during a dispute between two parties early Thursday morning.
Police said the dispute turned violent near the intersection of South Galena Way and East Virginia Avenue sometime before 6 a.m. Both the man and the woman were transported to a nearby hospital.
Police believe the woman sustained serious injuries from the gunshot wound. The extent of the man’s injuries were unknown. Police were also unsure about whether the two individuals knew each other.
There were some traffic delays in the area while police investigated the scene. Most of those delays had cleared up by 7 a.m.
