Police search for hit-and-run suspect that injured Denver 12-year-old student

DENVER — A 12-year-old student at a Denver middle school was struck and injured by a hit-and-run driver who fled the scene. Police were still looking for the driver as of 8 a.m.
Denver police confirmed the hit-and-run look place just before 7:25 a.m. near Lake Middle School at 1820 Lowell Boulevard, and said they are looking for the driver, who may have been operating a truck.
Police could not confirm the extent of the boy’s injuries as of 8 a.m., but scanner traffic indicated he had road rash to the face and legs.
There were road closures in the area as of 8 a.m.
